What I Wore Wednesday {Falling for Brown}

Pin It
Linking up again for WIWW over at The Pleated Poppy!  You can check out my Weekend Wrap-Up post from yesterday (Here) to see what I wore for the Halloween themed Farmer's Market this past weekend.

Today I pulled out my clogs, which I have had forever.  I can't remember where they came from, maybe Target, or Payless, or TJMaxx... anyway, I love them!

My most favorite way to wear them is paired with Jeans and a solid top.

 Today the color was brown, and I felt perfectly dressed for a comfortable fall day... and shopping at Target, where I picked up some cute clothes for the little chicks!  Did you know: Gwen Stefani has a children's clothing line for Target coming out this month?!? It's true!  Eeeeeep! How exciting!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

P.S.: Don't mind the dust and lack of molding on my floors, the hubs and I just installed them this past weekend... I still have a crick in my neck and bruises on my legs to prove it!  Aren't they fabulous though!?

What I Wore Wednesday {Everyday Chic}

Pin It
The weather is acting like it wants to feel like fall here in Eastern North Carolina.  The past few mornings I have awoken to crisp cool air... I know this because i'm snuggled under my blanket and the a/c is off, *wink*.  I almost welcome it when I let the pups out in the back yard... "Ahhh, Fall"... but I try not to say it too loudly because I don't want Winter to hear and think it needs to show itself any sooner than I'd like.  I don't like winter.... unless it's Christmas, in which case I can get over it and am happy... but then I'm back to my disdain for the season.

With the cooler weather I can break out my 3/4 sleeves, cardigans and sweaters, though it never really gets cold enough to wear a heavy sweater for long, so my collection over the years has dwindled to maybe one or two... I'll save those for a Winter WIWW post....

Today I'm linking with Ms. Lindsey of The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday {WIWW}... I'm calling this one {Everyday Chic}... Why?  Well, I've decided that this Fall/Winter I'm going to go easy on myself and not stress about my lack of beautiful sweaters and such... instead, I'm going to stick with simple, everyday solids:

Solid tanks, short sleeves, 3/4 sleeves and long sleeves.

I'll pair them with everyday cardigans, wraps and such, as needed for the weather.

How is this {Everyday Chic} you ask?  Well, that's where Accessories come in to play!  Now, for a gal who makes handbags and such I will admit I've never been one to really accessorize beyond the bag... and shoes, I do love shoes.  But, I've decided it's time to really make accessories work for me and really live  by my slogan "Everyday Chic for Everyday Chicks!".

The plan:
Use Everyday Clothes: Solids and some prints, but keeping it simple, things that can be dressed up or down, because honestly... that is what I do anyway!

Stay Everyday Chic: Add accessories to make my outfit {Everyday Chic}!

WIWW: Use at least one WIWW post a month to show off my {Everyday Chic} creation!

Here is my first {Everyday Chic} outfit, Enjoy!

Sunglasses {Reaction by Kennith Cole via TJMaxx}
Necklace {Twillypop.. LOVE!!}
Gray Cardigan {Candies via KHOLS}
Pink 3/4 Sleeve Shirt {I've had forever}
Navy Cami {Target}
Jeans {Red Camel via Belk}
Shoes {Walmart on clearance}

Okay, seriously... this {Twillypop} necklace may or may not be the inspiration for my current accessory obsession; which may or may not be an excuse to buy more accessories... just sayin'.
I've been stalking eyeing Sara's shop for a while now and last week I came across this gray necklace with the pink rosette (my most fav color combo right now) and had to have it!!
I. Love. It.

I bought these shoes on clearance at Walmart last year, or maybe the year before.  I'm happy to say that they have actually lasted, are comfortable, and I really like them... which is very rare with a Walmart clothing/shoe purchase, from my own experience. (Which is usually why it takes a clearance item for me to buy in the first place... it's easier to keep my expectations low.  I'm not sorry, it's true.)

How do you stay Everyday Chic?  What's your favorite Accessory?

What I Wore Wednesday [Feeling like Fall]

Pin It
Linking up with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday {aka WIWW}.

Quick recap: Lindsey started the WIWW link-up party as a way to keep herself out of lounge wear and more accountable for her appearance.  Working from home comes with the temptation to bum it out, often... you know, wear jammies and sweats all day, no make-up, etc?  But, this really hampers productivity (in my opinion)... so I try to limit uber casual days to once every few weeks.

* * *
I'm a summer gal, I like warm weather... my ideal temperature, however, is 72-80 degrees... yes, I will wear a light sweater when its in the 70's and rainy... especially when I just bought new ones for the season... and why not?!

I couldn't decide which self-photo-pose I wanted to go with...
so I chose both...

Remember these shoes from last week?

{Sweater} $4.00 from Target; Yay Clearance!
{Necklace} Gifted
{Arm Bangle} From Crazy 8... yep, it's my kid's
{Cami} Target
{Jeans} Several years old... maybe from Target?
{Pumps} TJ Maxx

* * * * * * * * *
Okay, if anyone has tips on a one-handed-self-photo with your iPhone,
please clue This Chick in... I can't figure that out.

{Shades} Kenneth Cole from TJ Maxx
{'Boyfriend' Sweater} Target
{Cami} Target
{Jeans} Another old pair
{Flip Flops} Cobani

Okay, supposed to be warm and muggy this week, so back to the summer wear... I enjoyed my two almost-fall outfits this week!

I could live in jeans and tank tops... whats your most comfy outfit?

What I Want To Wear & Polyvore

Pin It
I'm linking with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday aka WIWW, with the exception that today I'm not showing you What I wore, rather what I Want to wear...

I bought these fabulous shoes on Monday...

... Now, if the weather would cool down so I can actually wear them,
that. would. be. great.

{Shoes} Chinese Laundry at TJ Maxx $34.99

So, armed with new shoes, but without the right weather conditions, I went to browse Pinterest  and started pinning some cute fall outfits... then I went to Google for more inspiration.

Enter: {Polyvore}

Have you seen this site?!

You can build your own style boards, from clothing to decor, using all of the latest items and trends...

Now this is a site that will suck a lot of time from my day if I'm not careful... but it's Oh So Fun!!

While daydreaming about wearing my new shoes, I came up with this outfit:

What I Want to Wear via {Polyvore}

I couldn't find my SoChick bags on Polyvore... so I went with the Valentino handbag... *wink*

I this outfit!! (I named it 'Vintage Romance')  Enjoy exploring Polyvore and leave a comment telling me if you've been on it so I can check out your collections!  You can keep up with mine: HERE

Natural Beauty

Pin It
Yet again, I have taken no pictures of myself this week.  I dressed decently, but with my girls on vacation I was locked away in my studio getting stuff sewn and prepping for the craft fair from this past weekend.  So, in lieu of WIWW, I am sharing this picture with you:

Hubby and I were on the porch one evening last week and we looked up to see this beautiful rainbow-like cloud bursting out over some darker clouds. It didn't last long, actually, it started to go away as I went to grab the camera. (See how there's that dark space to the right of the rainbow?)  It dissolved away and I was happy when I reviewed the pictures to see that I had caught at least one on camera!

In our busy daily lives its so nice to sit and just take in the Natural Beauty around us; this world is a beautiful place when you slow down and see it for that it is.

What I Wore Wednesday [Week 3: Fail]

Pin It
Typically on a Wednesday I'm linking with Lindsey at The Pleated Poppy to share my WIWW... I've done two and was looking forward to doing my third... then it hit me... it's Wednesday and I've not taken a single picture of myself this week! Doh!

So far this week I've gotten a custom order shipped and have started working on others, as well as planning what I'm making to sell at a Craft Fair on July 16th...

You read that right... I'll be at a Craft Fair at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Havelock, NC, on July 16th!  Yay!  I'll be sharing a booth inside with my friend, and fellow Handmade Biz owner, Tiana, of Tiana's Unique Designs.  Should be lots of fun. :-)

In Lieu of WIWW, I'll share two snap-shots of my evening and morning... my two nieces slept over, which was fun.  We went to a Pizzeria, near my Dad's house, for dinner...

Fusball2

Then the girl's took-over the living room...

SleepOver2

When we head back to my Dad's later I'm hoping to hit-up the little sound-side beach for some more of this...

16th Street Beach

Ahh, summer vacation. :-)
